To embed a spin on a website or blog, first navigate to the spin’s public page by clicking the Arqspin logo in the bottom right corner of the spin:

Then, click the embed button and copy/paste the HTML into your site.

auto-rotate

If this option is checked, the spin will begin to rotate immediately after loading. Otherwise, the spin will initially be stationary.

auto-stop

If this option is checked, the spin will slow down and eventually stop after the user releases their finger (either touch or mouse). Otherwise, the spin will continue to rotate.

auto-load

If this option is checked, the spin will load immediately along with the rest of the page. Otherwise, a play button will be shown and the spin will only load after the user clicks the play button. This limits the amount of data that is loaded for the spin before the user shows an interest in interacting with the spin.

Flash embed

Flash embed works on some websites that do not support JavaScript or iframe embeds (such as eBay), but is not supported by all devices (such as iPhone/iPad).

  1. Howdy! I just learned about Arqball Spin through Engadget. AMAZING! I’m really interested in this… so excited that now I finally want to buy a tablet! I plan to pledge to get an Arqball’s Stage. I have one question/request; how can I embed the rotating images to a FORUM? I understand how to embed to websites and other codes… but I can’t seem to get how to POST the code on a Forum. I plan to take rotating images of miniatures (specifically Warhammer 40k models) but our community is Forum based. I understand that I could make a website for my models and just post a link to those pages, but I would like to have the marvelous rotating images on the forum itself. Please visit out Forum (specifically the model section) to see what we do and understand what I want to do.

Your product pushes amateur photography further into the real of the amazing… THANK YOU!

    • Hi Mordheimer,
Sounds awesome, my friend has a bunch of Warhammer 40k models. Basically, phpBB (the board system that your forum is using) doesn’t support arbitrary html, but you could get an administrator to support iframes by adding a custom bbcode tag — check out this blog post about how to do it http://www.joepritchard.me.uk/2009/12/iframes-in-phpbb/ . Once that is done, just follow the steps for iframe above.

      Best of luck!

  2. Love this product so hoping you guys are successful with the kickstarter funding.

I have successfully embedded spins on my site using a few different methods. How is possible to have the spin continually spin like your examples http://arqspin.com/s/1klha5g32pj27

    Thanks

    • Thanks Phil! We haven’t exposed many settings for embeds yet, but when we do you will be able to control things like how fast the object spins and whether it comes to a stop or not.

  3. How can i get more then 25 “spins”?

    • Hi Irs,
You can get infinite spins through our basic plan. Login and click “account”, or go to https://arqspin.com/account

Note that if you bought a stage on Kickstarter you’ll be given a basic account until the end of the year once your stage ships.

  4. We have been exicted for a while about this project.
    I like the ease.
I am working on a cart project this would be a real wow if we could get a few more tweeks.
zoom in and out in embed iframe would be nice

  5. Hi there,
Fantastic concept, I have one concern that the final product is hosted on your server. For us (in Australia) it’s potentially a problem because the website will load slower with an embed form the USA!

This is the largest draw back, aside from concerns that if something happens with the service in 2 years we’re stuck with re-taking all our photo’s. Do you have an out, even if someone were to pay you for say 5 years subscriptions, where we could host our own source files to embed?

  6. Hi,

I’m about to shoot a ton of products and thought it would be great to do spins for each one at the same time – is there any alternative to using an iphone/ipad? I’ll be shooting the main photos with a dslr, I have access to high-end Android phones, but I definately won’t buy an iphone just for this which I feel is still a bit experimental for our business. Thoughts or alternatives?

    Regards

    Dave

  7. How do you embed this on your facebook page without all of the embedding html showing in your comments? Most people will not click anything like that.

    • Hi Julie,

Thanks for writing. Normally, when you copy+paste the URL of the public spin page into the “update status” box in Facebook, the spin itself will appear in your feed. Note that you want to copy+paste the URL and not the
